PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Somesha Mtoto Mmoja is a Swahili name which means EDUCATE ONE CHILD.Naata Foundation strives for vulnerable children’s access to quality education as the best way for them to be prepared for their bright future. However, due to family economic disparities that affect poor families, most of the children are either sent to school but end up with psychological trauma caused by family inability to afford basic needs for schooling purposes like school uniforms, exercise books, participation in children learning tour trips, meals, medical support and others with similar considerations.
Therefore, under this program NAATA FOUNDATION call for stakeholders , partners to join efforts at least every person to support ONE CHILD among the children in the list of children in need collected by NAATA during baseline survey carried out in Arusha region .
As of now NAATA Founding members are supporting ten (10) Children, however , due to the fact that most of them are currently not able to afford furthering up support to other children due to financial challenges . Hence hereby call for support from others who may become part of these blessings generated from shaping next generation. Most of these children are either raised and cared by widows, poor grandparents post to death of both parents of respective children or just cared by poor relatives who take care of them due to their orphanage status.
Below is the summary of package delivered to supported to children by NAATA with support from stakeholders :-
- School fee and other scholastic support per annum to ONE child (equivalent to $ 500
- Improved Health Community Fund (ICHF)-Covering health insurance (Equivalent to $ 25 per annum to one child)
- Meals support at school (Equivalent to $220 per annum to one child)
- Uniform and other school necessities (Equivalent to $ 200 per one child per annum)
